Tea Parties

Aneliese got to enjoy her first tea party with her little cousins. We made shape cookies together and of course you must have a tea party to fully enjoy the cookies.
So yes, Aneliese also had her first cookies (note the plural) and no there was no health benefit to them. I am sure that the raspberry tea was good for her though. They were thoroughly cute as they sipped their tea and ate their cookies. I love that we are getting to this stage though I have loved the baby stage too.
Aren't they sweet?

No pictures

Had a lovely and refreshing visit with Dee and her adorable little son. It is so good to be able to encouraged and be encouraged by dear friends in person. I like that we keep in touch through facebook, xanga, and email but nothing is quite the same as a face to face visit. There is so much of life that can't be shared in cyber world and I don't really think that it is meant to be so having the chance to talk openly and honestly about joys, hopes, struggles and even feelings of defeat and failure with someone who is at a similar stage in life such a blessing. Like so many of my friends, Dee is a beautiful and dedicated mama and I loved seeing in person how much she loved her son.
Today I braved the stormy weather to get winter tires put on, car check-up and have a midwife visit. The plan was to spend the hours that the car was in the shop working on some crafty type stuff with a friend before I saw the midwife. However, I felt totally and completely crappy with a cold/flu and Aneliese also is still fussy and demanding so not too much got done. This is one of those days when parenting is tough because especially when I don't feel good, whining really gets to me. Thankfully, they are few and far between and Dan will be home soon!!

Edit: The reason for my title is that I realized that I took no pictures while Dee was here:(

Sleepy, Cuddly Girl

It seems that whenever Aneliese has a few teeth coming, and she seems to get a few at one time often, she also gets sick. So this a picture of our day from yesterday although for most of the day she was in my arms rather than Dan's.  He did snuggles while he was home. When Aneliese is sick, she is almost silent except to call for one of us and smiles are almost non-exsistent. She is still pretty sweet though and it is always such a joyous occasion to see the sunshine poke out again.

Today we are being blessed with a visit from Dee and her little man. So excited to see them!! The only thing better than a visit from one of my dearest girls would be a visit from all of them!

To Clarify

So our house is for sale, there is a big ol For Sale sign sitting in my front perennial garden. However, we have no move to another part of the world planned for a while. We just need to downsize and a house came available that might be good for doing that plus we just decided that it is time. Once we start support raising and actively preparing to leave for Eastern Europe, Dan will only be working part time and so we want lower payments etc if possible. So for a few days it was a bit frenzied because there are a few things that need to be finished up in this house and we were trying to figure all the real estate stuff. However, now it is much more relaxed and we are just dealing with the little odds and ends as we go along. No viewings yet though.

So maybe today I can work on something other than the house, although I might just sleep as Aneliese was up for a couple of hours last night and waking on and off. She does this sometimes, she is so exhausted but is determined to be awake and calling for me. We, especially after last night, are equally determined that she is going to go back to sleep....no one wins really.

Signed Papers

We signed the papers today....our house is now for sale. We have several things to do in the next couple of days and my head and body are going a little crazy right now with the busyness of it all. We are praying that it will be sold in the next month. More later!
