| We always love decorating our tree but helping and watching our precious little daughter enjoy it so much makes it so much better! She was so cute picking out ornaments and carefully hanging them up.

| I had planned to write yesterday, but it was just too busy. We were working on Aneliese's christmas present (can't wait to give it to her!), then did a family photo shoot, and then went so that Dan could track a cougar with my brother in law...yup busy day. It is now 6:45 and Aneliese is still sleeping. This is amazing because it never happens but it happened last sunday too. We finally have gotten her to sleep a little later than 4:30 or 5:00 though so that is good. Today after church we are going Christmas tree hunting!! Apparently it is supposed to be really cold but most of the family is still ready to brave the weather so off we will go. I love the tradition of hunting for a tree but I must admit that since I had a perfect tree last year, I kind of don't look forward to getting a scraggly one. I am also feeling nervous about driving into the bush this year. Everything is still going great with baby but we had a little scare a couple of nights ago and so I am starting to be more nervous about being too far from the hospital. We have been doing our little advent services together each day and I have loved it. This past week was focused on hope; the hope of Christ's coming. My thoughts have been really directed to the hope of Christ second coming and how we look forward to that. With many of this past year's happenings that is something that has been on my heart anyway; the joyous prospect of eternity worshiping our God.
EDIT: Christmas tree hunting ended up being in the grocery store parking lot after church. Dan didn't feel like it was a good idea to go a couple hours up the mountain and I quite easily saw his side of it....Now for decorating!!!

| We had another ultrasound to do one final check on the placenta and while that part was not what we wanted to hear (still complete placenta previa), our baby was so sweet. The baby's eyes were opening and closing and he/she was sucking on his or her little hands and moving its lips. Like Aneliese, this one is going to have a full head of hair upon arrival and also like her, has my turned up nose...I must have strong nose genes:). It is fun showing Aneliese the pictures of our baby since she is so into the baby in my tummy. I don't know how much she really understands but she will figure it all out. She sure loves other people's babies, even when I am holding them:). I can hardly wait for this little one to arrive!
Aneliese is so close to being potty trained now though it has been super difficult the last couple of weeks because she still wants me or Dan to help and since I am not allowed to do much that is one of the things that some one else is usually doing with her. It is hard, but just a few more weeks. I am never sure what to do when we are in the car and she says that she has to go pee or poo. Any suggestions? Sadly we have just been letting her go unless we can make it to where we are headed. It does seem like we have been pretty close more than once and then there always seems to be a set back but this time I am so hopeful. Especially since as part of my lovely new schedule, we have been using disposables a lot more and I HATE them. We get the Seventh Generation ones so the smell doesn't make me sick which is nice but I hate having the garbage from using them. I have also been trying to get a video of her counting and talking but our camera beeps when you start to record and it always distracts her. This morning she was counting away as she was 'changing' her bear's diaper and I got the camera and though once it was out, she needed a little prompting from Dan, I finally did get a video.
Oh and for those of you who know my family, my sister Shaylene is engaged. Is that crazy or what! My little sister getting married. They are getting married in May. I am happy for them, it will be good. Aneliese is a flower girl in the wedding, I am the matron of honor, Dan is the photographer and it is going to be crazy and fun!
Edit: Aneliese just sat here on the floor by me and peed then ran to the potty:) just a little perspective. Now she is putting her winter boots on with nothing else.

| As today is the first Sunday of Advent, we started our morning with that. Every year since we have been married we have talked about it but have never really known where to start but since I got the Book of Common Prayer for Dan last Christmas and our church gave out a booklet of Henri Nouwen's advent meditations, we started this year. We are going to do it through out the week as well and it is already so meaningful to us, this specific preparation and building of anticipation within our hearts. Especially stuff that is going on right now, we need this focus. We have decided that we want to memorize the prayers as a family, do advent hymns(Aneliese already loves this and the candle lighting) and Scriptures and then each year pick different meditative readings. I know that some of you already do this, what do you do?

| Today I had an appointment with my midwife and since I have been sick etc etc. my sister drove me in to it. My midwife practices from her home and it looked like she was there with a patient so I told my sister to go and that I would call her when I was done. Well as she was pulling away, I realized that there was actually no one there and the door was locked. So my pregnant self minus a coat and with no way to call Joleen sat down to contemplate what to do next (I had told Joleen it could be an hour). This is also when I realized that I had left my cell phone in my nephew's car and that there was likely a message on there telling me that my appointment had been cancelled. Thankfully it wasn't too cold until a chilly little wind came up but I still had to keep telling myself that I wasn't cold even if my sweater had short sleeves! Finally one of the neighbors drove in their yard and kindly let me borrow their phone. Really it wasn't that long.....not quite an hour...and it could have been much colder....and there was a nice bench to sit on...and sure enough there was a message on my phone.
